Mathematics Day & Triangle Tribute 📐

NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY

The Indian government declared 22 December to be National Mathematics Day. It was introduced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 26 December 2011 at Madras University, to mark the 125th birth anniversary of the Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. On this occasion Prime minister Manmohan Singh also announced that 2012 would be celebrated as the National Mathematics Year.
Since then, National Mathematics Day is celebrated in all schools and universities throughout the country.

On the occasion of National Mathematics Day, 
Mathematics association of GCTE organized a mathematical creative contest named "TRIANGLE TRIBUTE" on 20 th December 2022 from 3:30 pm 4:30 pm. 5 groups of 10 students were created for the competition. Each group need to make a creative work using only triangles. The coordinator of the program was Dr.Roshna V Gopal, Lecturer in Mathematics, GCTE,Thycaud. 
All the groups showed their different creatives in it.
On the next day, 21st Dec 2022, Mathematics association of GCTE conducted assembly.
Shruti and Mahima sang the prayer song. Rakendu read the news and Keerthana shared details about Ramanujan. Aswathy was the host of assembly. 
The prizes of "TRIANGLE TRIBUTE" also awarded at the assembly.
Dr Jolly S,the vice principal of GCTE distributed the prizes to all the winners.
