Community Living Camp DAY 1 πŸ’«

The first day of community living camp started with the preparation of lotion and hand wash. Under the supervision of Ummer sir, Sukymaran sir and Smita mam who came from Gandhi Bhavan from 9:30 am. The activity was organized with emphasis on the slogan “Earn While You Learn”.

 

After the lunch, we started our journey to Gramina Patna Kendram, Karakulam by Model School’s School bus. Then after half an hour, we reached our destination. Our abode was at the top of a hill. We moved up in the intense heat of the sun with our heavy luggage. The registration began at 1:30 pm.

 

The camp activities began with opening ceremony. Anju teacher welcomed everyone. The presidential address was done by our college principal Dr. A V Sujith sir.Our chief guest Brahma Nayakan Mahadevan sir inaugurated the five day residential camp. Dr.shiba (Assisstant professor in Sanskrit dept) teacher delivered felicitation for the program. Then the camp song was presented by our college music composers Keerthana Anil and Gowri Venu. At last, vote of thanks done by Sreeja teacher.

 

After the inauguration ceremony, there was a class by Brahmanayakam Mhadevan sir on the topic “Puthiya Lokham Puthiya Kaazhcha”. 


I don’t have words to say about the class. From worrying about how to spend three hours, I was able to spend about four and an half hours without any boredom. He managed to engage us very actively without boring ua even for a second. Through this class, we 53 students got to know each other deeply. That was the first session of Chiranthana.

Just like yesterday, I came to school at 9:15 am. After prayer and pledge, i had done my lesson plan. Then i went for class management in 8C. After that, i went to class 8B for teaching the balance portion of money math. Today, i taught about compound interest. Gives activity to do. At the end of the class gave a hw question. Then after had lunch, i had done my balance work. After the national anthem, we left the school.

Our college celebrated onam celebration named ' Kalika' on 23 rd and 24 th of August. On the first day, our Principal Sujith sir inaugurated the program. He said a few words about onam and also our english teacher Omanaseelan sir sung a onam song for us. Later, many games like musical chair, Mittayiperukkal, biscuit kadi, chakkilotam etc were conducted with involvement of both teachers and students. Group dances were done by both B.Ed and M.Ed students.The prizes were also distributed for the winners of games. The first day ended with vadamvali. On the second day we had to make attapookalam and a mega thiruvathira was also organised. Both these days were really memorable. On the second day Maveli Tamburan also came to visit us.

A field visit is an integral part of the B.Ed curriculum as it helps prospective teachers to gain practical experience and knowledge in real classroom settings. It allows them to observe teaching techniques, interact with students, and understand the challenges and complexities involved in the teaching profession.  As part of this, the department of Mathematics,Commerce,Physical Science,Natural Science and geography conducted a field trip to ' Milma Dairy Plant' ,Ambalathara on 26 th of september.All of the students and teachers reached by 10 am.One of the assistant dairy officer showed and explained the working process of the plant. At the end of the trip,teachers bought us icecreams from the milma shop.
