Community Living Camp DAY 4πŸ’«

15 February 2024 was the fourth day of our Community Living Camp. The day commenced with the aerobics class at 6:30 am by Ms. Jithi J.G., the physical instructor at CET. After breakfast, each group presented the camp news, and some were called to share their experiences of the camp days.

The first session was titled "Parayunnu Paadunnu" and was led by the famous poet Gireesh Puliyoor. This was one of the best sessions of the camp. With his poems and fiery statements, he captivated our minds. He made us repeat the poems after he recitate, because of which I still remember a few lines. Gireesh Puliyoor sir also donated his anthology Karinkuyilum Kanivellariyum to our college library, which was received by Dr Anju I, on behalf of our college.

After the lunch break, we had planned an Institutional visit to the Indian Institute of Science and Technology,
Thiruvananthapuram. We started our journey to IIST at 1:45 pm. All of us were very excited about it and we thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Most of us were surprised as well as amazed to see the huge IIST campus. IIST is a government-aided institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science.  Mr. Umesh Khadane sir welcomed us to the institution and gave a talk on ‘the art and science of learning’. He discussed the importance of the ‘art of learning’. Bhagya Murali of the English department extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Mr. Umesh Khadane sir for his valuable time and insightful words.
After a short break, we headed to visit three labs dedicated to space science and research, where the research scholars welcomed us and gave a detailed explanation of the workings of the labs. Keerthana Anil of the Maths department thanked all the coordinators who arranged this institution visit, the faculties who permitted us to the institution, and the research scholars of IIST who gave us a warm welcomed. We left the campus by 5:45 pm.
We reached Grameena Padana Kendram around 6:30 and after a short break, everyone started practicing for the cultural programs, while some were busy preparing the camp news.
Around 8:45 pm the cultural programs began with a mesmerizing performance by Bhagya Murali and Parvathy S. It was followed by different group and solo performances. An unforgettable moment was when Anju ma’am sang a beautiful song for us. It was the last night at the camp and i am sure that everyone enjoyed it.
